2018 Ford EcoSport Redesign

The 2018 Ford EcoSport could arrive here in 2018, but its basic design went into production in Brazil in mid-2012. Ford promises that the EcoSport has been completely updated for us. Under the hood, there will be a choice between a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and an atmospheric 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine. Both engines are paired with an automatic transmission and 6-speed front-wheel drive, although the 2.0 will be available with all-wheel drive.

The 2018 Ford EcoSport is available in four versions: S, SE, SES and Titanium. Each will be equipped with a vast suite of standard features. Each EcoSport will have the Ford Sync 3 information and entertainment system that will display on an 8-inch touch screen. Higher versions will have an improved Bang and Olufsen audio system. It will also enable the integration of smartphones as well as pairing with a mobile application that will have information such as fuel level and odometer as well as the ability to start, lock and locate your vehicle from your phone. Other features include USB ports, a 110-volt outlet, heated seats and steering wheel, a moonroof, a side-hinged door, a start button, and a fuel-saving start / stop engine.

2018 Ford EcoSport offers many standard safety features. Each EcoSport will be equipped with a large set of air bags, a tire pressure monitoring system and a post-crash alert system. There are also advanced active safety features, including Blind Spot Monitoring and SYNC 3, which help reduce distracted driving.

A unique option is the “floating” infotainment screen. Looks like someone has stuck an iPad in the center console and says it’s done! It is available in flavors of 6.5 inches and 8 inches, fbut or those who choose the base, you will get a 4 inch screen that is placed in the dashboard. SYNC 3 will be standard and is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. SYNC Connect is also featured on the EcoSport. The purchase will allow your EcoSport to become a 4G Internet hotspot. The FordPass app will be able to pair with your vehicle, allowing you to unlock, lock, remote start, and locate your car when you lose it in a large mall parking lot. It can also tell you how much gas the car has in the tank.

Although we did not have the opportunity to drive the all-new 2018 Ford EcoSport, we had the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the new sub-compact crossover when it was unveiled in North America. Despite its small footprint, the EcoSport has a spacious interior including the entry / exit to the rear seats. While the rear seats fold flat, they do not fold at the same level as the rear floor. A height adjustable shelf solves this problem. The EcoSport also has lots of storage bins and cubbies.
