The luxury sedan, now in its sixth generation, has arrived in its current form as a 2014 model. The updated model is expected to go on sale next year as a 2018 Maserati Quattroporte.
The Maserati Quattroporte 2018 is built on the same unibody platform used by Maserati Ghibli. Thus, the dimensions will remain unchanged, measuring 207.2 inches long and 77.1 inches thick. It will run on 21-inch alloy wheels, with red brake calipers and a 124.8-inch wheelbase. The mudguard and front grille will have aerodynamic characteristics. This vehicle will maintain trapezoidal exhaust and strap accessories found in the current edition. The 2018 Maserati Quattroporte will feature automatic grid flaps that should reduce aerodynamic drag by approximately 10%.
The automaker incorporates leather, heated seats to ensure a relaxed and comfortable experience. Although it has not yet been confirmed, this model should be integrated with Google’s infotainment system based on Android. This, in turn, will open up additional options and opportunities. The cabin should also accommodate up to five occupants. The touch screen, at 8.4 inches, will be slightly larger than the one found in the current model. It will use the newer Maserati Touch-Control Plus interface, incorporating a central control button behind the offset. A handful of safety features are expected, including traffic alert, lane departure warning, speed control, automated emergency braking, as well as a blind check. In addition, the vehicle manufacturer will use a 360 degree camera system.
It is not clear what Maserati is for mechanics, but current powertrain training is likely to be postponed, possibly with minor revisions to the fuel and fuel economy figures. Current offers include V-6 3.0-liter V-6 engines and 3.8-liter turbocharged engines, with outputs ranging from 404 horsepower to 530 horsepower. The transmission will remain an 8-speed automatic.
Official prices are still unknown, but slight changes are expected. Most predictions estimate that the cost starts at $ 105,000. Quattroporte is expected to open the concessions before the beginning of 2018.
