Earlier this year, the front and profile of the 2018 Nissan Paladin were leaked through an official image. Now, a spy shot of the production has exposed its background, courtesy of Burlappcar.
The front of the Nissan Paladin in rendering is a bit different from the Nissan Navara. It features the latest iteration of Nissan’s V-motion grille, more elegant LED headlights with DRL LEDs and a unique bumper with more muscular outer ends. On the sides, the rising waistline aims to give the rugged SUV a contemporary look with prominent wings and large wheels.
Nissan is offering the Nissan Navara in China with the 2.5-liter QR25 petrol engine producing 135 kW (180.97 hp) and 236 Nm / 251 Nm of torque. This engine could also find its place under the hood of the Nissan Paladin 2018. Nissan could sell this SUV in the markets of ASEAN, the Middle East and Oceania, perhaps under the name Nissan Xterra next generation or under another name. The company can offer Navara’s 2.3-liter turbocharged diesel engine, a 2.3-liter twin-turbo diesel engine and a 2.5-liter diesel engine outside of China.
The production of the 2018 Nissan Paladin will take place at the Zhengzhou Nissan JV factory in China. The Sino-Japanese JV will launch the Nissan Navara SUV at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show in April 2018. The all-new Nissan Paladin will compete with Ford Everest and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the country.
