2019 Ford Focus ST First Drive

2019 Ford Focus ST – Ford’s original Focus was a breath of fresh air when it was introduced to the world of cars in 1998. Replacing the Escort, its radical style and fantastic handling were a great medium for small players of the late 1990s. Successive generations of Focus ST have not quite captured the same magic as the original, but Ford is currently preparing its 4th generation car – can it stand out and scare the competition? Let’s probe further.

We are pretty sure this is the first sighting of the hot ST model. The design of the grille is similar to that of the Fiesta ST 2018, while the wheels are probably 20 inches wide. The only thing that holds us back is the double exhaust system placed on the side of the bumper. The current Focus ST models have only one big tip in the middle of the car, which seems much cooler than what we see here.

However, while many hot hatchbacks have cool exhausts, not everyone deserves them. This Focus ST could be the diesel model. Its main competitor, the Golf GTD, has a similar configuration to two hoses, while the good muffler of the Octavia RS TDI is completely wrong.

Speaking of the Octavia, this Focus Wagon seems to copy its oversized dimensions. Supposedly, we’re looking at a compact car, but it’s about the same size as the Mondeo two generations ago

It should be noted that while the 1.5-liter engine of the newly introduced 197-horsepower Fiesta ST has three cylinders, the one that is thought to be producing for the larger Focus ST will be a larger unit. four pots. It will not be all about the gasoline engine since the new Focus ST will continue to be offered with a powerful diesel. This makes sense given that about half of today’s Focus ST cars are equipped with a 2.0-liter TDCi engine and 182 diesel-powered ponies.

The 2019 Ford Focus ST¬†wagon body types will be introduced in the spring of 2018, approximately six months after the revelation of the regular models. This means that we will see the fourth generation of Ford’s compact model later this year, probably at its own event rather than at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The luxed-up Vignale garnish will live to see another generation and should be offered from the first day.
