2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Test Drive

2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class – The first Mercedes-Benz next-generation S-Class test mule has been spotted.

The vehicle in the body images of the S-Class sedan that we have now. However, the source claimed that the car is simply a test mule housing the mechanical package of the next-gen model, which is still in its initial development phase.

It is still too early to speculate on the features of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The report said it could be based on its manufacturer’s new MRA platform, which is designed for rear-wheel drive cars. The car should be lighter than the current model, as it will likely use a lot of aluminum in its armor combined with some carbon fiber reinforced plastic elements. The expanded wings of the unit also indicate that the next S-Class will have a wider track.

Citing an article in CAR Magazine last year, the new generation of the S-Class is supposed to serve as a basis for the reintroduction of the SEC range. The SEC is likely to re-blend the design elements of the S-Class Coupé with its long-wheelbase version. Imagine it being the size of the long wheelbase model in the series that matches the sloping roofline of its sporty two-door model.

It’s hard to know what Mercedes reserves for its next S-Class from the start. The current model has just received its mid-cycle update, so, of course, Mercedes is shy to talk about the next. We already know a few things, though. Each powertrain will be electrified, either with light hybrid technology, rechargeable hybrid or pure electric.

There will also be much more advanced self-driving systems, including perhaps a level 3 system. This is where the car can cope in certain situations, leaving the driver free to do other things . If the driver needs to regain control, the car will give warnings well in advance. Audi has already introduced such a system in its latest A8, but its availability will be limited due to lack of regulation.

We expect Mercedes to offer the next S-Class in several body lengths, from a short wheelbase to an extra-long Pullman. However, there is a good chance that the Class S Coupé and Convertible will no longer be available. Do not be surprised if the void is filled with a Maybach offer.
